About the Utah League of Tandem Riding Addicts

The Utah League of Tandem Riding Addicts is a loosely organized branch of the Bonneville Bicycle Touring Club of Utah. We don't require membership to join in rides or to be included in our email list, but we encourage bicyclists to join the BBTC for newsletters, social activities, route guides and discounts on bicycling gear.

Michael and Heatherly Bucher (at left in yellow polka-dots, fixing a broken chain during the MS 150) organized the Utah League of Tandem Riding Addicts in 1997 to build a network of tandem riders throughout Utah. The Buchers moved to Colorado in 1999, but their double-saddle legacy lives on in Utah through the lasting friendships among the ULTRA crowd and the rides we still enjoy. Because ULTRA's membership overlapped with the BBTC, we decided to join forces in 2005. Plus, it gets the ULTRA rides posted on the cool BBTC web site at http://www.bbtc.net/Calendar/index.htm.
